After taking a year off, Africa Revolution’s fundraiser came back in style thanks in large part to Lifebook Lounge, a venue akin to swanky New York lounges that people only hear about months after their popularity has fizzled. Situated in Chicago’s West Loop, literally underneath the el tracks, the unlikely space was a perfect choice for this year’s event. The former warehouse turned private lounge comfortably held nearly 100 attendees with a built-in bar the length of a small yacht and a sound system seemingly customized for the DJ. With black and red décor, guests would have thought the space was decorated specifically for Africa Revolution.
The event attracted mostly new faces and raised more than $4500 for Africa Revolution’s various projects through live and silent auctions, merchandise and private donations.
Thanks to everyone who attended the event and especially to Caleb Berry, Nicole Erickson and Emily Parker who co-chaired the event.
We hope you’ll join us in the summer of 2011!
