Church Orphan Home Model
Building Churches / Restoring Childhoods / Empowering Communities
For the local church in Africa to holistically serve its community, with our vision coming alongside in assistance, it is necessary to let ministry flow out of one centralized local church facility center in the community. We aim to assist churches in building a multi functioning church center.
The ground floor will be a church hall seating up to 350 people. Church offices, storage and a small home as well as a kitchen, dinning room and laundry facility take up the space of the lower floor. The top floor will be the orphan home, providing innovative care to a capacity of 48 orphans and 10 caregivers; a good ratio & size to maintain healthy dynamics. Many caregivers will be widows and grandmothers who will live with the orphans 24/7. It has proved successful to place an orphan in the care of someone who knows their pain because they too have experienced loss. Attendees of the church form an extended pseudo family. The home has a family atmosphere of love, compassion and hope for a future; and so childhoods are restored.
One side of the building will host skills development rooms where interns will train community members in basic computers, HIV/AIDS care and awareness, small
business practice, after school tutoring, nutrition etc. Interns and community members will go out together and address needs and do acts of compassion in the community. This unique 3 in 1 center will be a hub of holistic healing for the community.
Currently we are looking for passionate like-minded donors to come alongside us and make the construction of our first home a reality.
