COST OF THE PROGRAM

The program cost approximately $12,000 for the year. This includes all living expenses, travel; to, from, and within Africa.  All team members must raise their support from their circle of friends and family.

ROAD TO AFRICA-

INTERNSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURE

STEP ONE:  Interested! Read through the website and contact us regarding your interest and with any further questions. (Please make sure you have read through the site before asking further questions. There is no "more information" unless you have specific questions.)

STEP TWO:  Receive e-mail confirmation of your interest along with answers to your questions. Seek out friends and family to pray with you regarding this decision to go to Africa. Download Application Packet and review. We ask serious applicants to fast and pray before filling out the application packet.

STEP THREE:  Complete application and send it in along with an individual photo of the non-mugshot variety.

STEP FOUR:  You will receive e-mail confirmation when your application has been received.

STEP FIVE:  AR staff will begin checking references after all reference forms have been received and will notify you via e-mail when the process has been completed.

STEP SIX:  Phone or in-person interview depending on your nearness to our headquarters in Chicago, IL.

STEP SEVEN:  With e-mail confirmation of your acceptance, you will receive materials to begin raising financial support.  You will periodically receive e-mail updates regarding the status of your financial support up until the time and after you leave for South Africa.  You must have raised 50% of your support prior to leaving the country.

STEP EIGHT:  You will receive internship preparatory materials such as an AR t-shirt, packing list and other essential instructions. 

STEP NINE:  You will need to make travel arrangements to be at the AR HQ at the beginning of August. Transportation to and from the airport will be provided.  (more details and further directions to come) 

STEP TEN:  Orientation

STEP ELEVEN:  Teams will fly to South Africa and will participate in two weeks of training before beginning their internships.
