We were at the farm taking the trash to throw in the pit down at the back of our yard. In the distance were about twelve kids from the community, about 8-12 year olds, looking for food in the trash pit. We draw close and they were about to run away, but we waved at them, to be friendly to them and they just stood. It was sad to see those kids. The question which was in me was; what makes them see trash as precious food? Hunger!
One of them had a huge wound on his forehead and blood was gushing out. We asked him what happened. He was speaking siSwati and our brother Clever spoke with him in siSwati. He said they where fighting, stoning each other. We took him with all the other kids to get medical attention. The rest of the kids we had them sit at Allan’s house and He gave them cookies.
It was amazing to see these kids happy because they had been ministered to not just in word but more than word. Love reaches with actions.

At work with the Lord

The month of June has been amazing to see how God is visibly touching lives through the hands of Africa Revolution. Looking at how God is using the team to touch lives in the community, in out reaches, within Hawane farm, at Luke Commission (Medical Outreach), Emafine (Rehab) and through the orphan houses which each and every volunteer has adopted to minister the love of Christ to them. I believe there is always a space to fill, in this ministry. This month had a lot of activities, just like all other months. We had Hawane youth fun day, where people from Potter’s Wheel Church came and joined us to have fun with kids. It was amazing to rejoice together in Christ it was a time to share. In the communities this month we went to cut down the tress for one of the Gogo’s who is building a house.

It has always been my joy to be a part of the hand God is using as an instrument in the lives of many people in Swaziland.

Transitions

The month of May had exiting spend our time of ministry in South Africa, visiting the Gogos (the grannies) and the youths called “The Call” at Power House in Mamelodi.  We had done the games with the youth and a drama called “Sin don’t touch”. It was the time to share the message of Love from the team and encouragement to focus their eyes on Jesus our Lord.  The Gogos (the grannies) shared to the team the challenge they have been facing and how through Africa Revolution God has come through for the rescue in time of need. In order to send our voice to the communities, we need to hear their voice; a cry for help and care. And that is what we has a team wants to do first identify the needy in a community and than reach out to them.  This month we also went with our new Leader of the Team John Skinner out in the communities of Swaziland to find the feeding points for kids and to find homes for the gogos, who are very old and that they can’t even take care of themselves.  We had found a couple of them and we have put them on our program.

The challenging part of the month of May is transitional circumstance for the team having Jason and Cara, our Leaders gone back to the States. And now we have the new leaders, John and Jude. It was hard at first knowing that we were to close to Jason and Cara and now it is time for new leaders. But now, it is fine and we are coping up with John and Jude, spending most of our time together in prayer and devotions.

We had also an opportunity to go to Lavumisa and see the ministry over that side for the homeless kids.

Our Lord Jesus Walk on earth with the Heart of Compassion and Love and He passed it to His discples way down through different ages up to our age.

What value is in the cross?

What is greater is to share Love in action. Our Sweet Lord made it plan for us by giving forth His only begotten son Jesus Christ to be a public spectacle on the cruel cross.

The apostle Paul explains to the Corinthian believers that it is foolishness to those who are perishing but to believers it is the power of God which brings about salvation. This is the love of God. The past month God has being challenging me concerning our Lord Jesus Christ, His death, burial and resurrection. God has deposited the same Love (agape) in our hearts for us to see the world through God’s eyes. To behold the pain which is around us and be God’s hand on the earth. Also to ministry eternal life to the poor in spirit, not just touching lives through meeting their physical needs but spiritual needs also. The value which is in the cross is unselfishness. We see this in our master’s life; Jesus Christ lived once in our environment, which is full of selfishness and injustice.  The true love from the Father doesn’t seek its own. Paul, the apostle argues with that point to the church at Corinth. This is something which the world will never understand because believers in Christ live their lives to share the testimony of Christ. They extend their hands to help others for the purpose of building the kingdom of God. This month God has taught me to live every single minute in my life for His glory, because every single minute in our lives counts of much value. Jim Elliot was a missionary to South America and was killed while on the mission field. Jim said “He is no fool he who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose”.

Month of April has been a time of reflection on the father’s Love for all human races.

Love in Action

In every ministry opportunities we are having here in Swaziland there is a voice from God teaching us the way to go about serving Him. I am glad to be seeing the invisible hand of God becoming visibly by granting us grace, to minister to the communities. In this month we had helped build a house for Pastor Bemba and His family. Pastor Bemba has been on a wheelchair for 24 years and the extension of our hands for help has been a blessing to Him and the family. The next ministry we had done as a TEAM was making a garden for an old single lady, who is also looking after the little kids with her. We planted some carrots, lettuce and cabbage in her backyard. Luke Commission is one of the ministries which I am enjoying because of the huge need in people’s lives. The need is being meet through the love and compassionate heart of this ministry. Working with them I feel my arms embracing the kingdom of Swaziland by showing them the same Love of God which I have received too.
In this God has taught me that ministry is not just in words but also in power with action through mighty wonderful works. I believe preaching is more than standing at the pulpit every Sunday. This generation needs not only the miracles nor words but practicality of our faith. God is teaching me that don’t just rush to the pulpit but be in action on the field too. The other thing I am learning to listen to the voices which are crying for help, for a hand to help them rise up to their feet.

Scripture of the Month:
“that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead”. (Phil 3:10-11 ESV)

How Heavy Is Your Cross?

February 28th, 2011 by James

Paul testified the purpose of the cross in His life saying “that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” 2 Corinthian 4:7. And down the same passage Paul explains how heavy it is “we are hard pressed on every side yet not crushed, we are perplexed, but not in despair persecuted, but not forsaken…..always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body”.

Ministry is all about carry the cross, the passion which Christ had and still has for his people. The cross which Jesus had carried represents the visible passion for the Lost (the world). Those who carry the cross in their lives, it goes beyond their will. The good example is Christ who desired not his own will to be done, but the father’s will. This month the Lord is still stirring my heart with this passion and I praise the Lord that He is bring about spiritual growth by growing my passion. My experience with the Luke Commission here in Swaziland was very challenging to me. We joined them on an outreach. These people have a heart for the people, their ministry is reaching the remote areas to provide medical attention to the locals. I feel in my spirit that we had just shared the same love of God which has been poured out in our heart by the Holy Spirit (Roman 5:5).
We have been reading the book titled Cross-culture Servanthood by Duane Elmer, the author points out that “You can’t serve someone you don’t understand” (Pg147). That’s my prayer to be a blessing to people of Swaziland so that God in heaven may be lifted up.

Last week we had gone to Emafini, a place where people who had been in addiction on drugs. We painted the classroom for these young men who now desire righteousness in this present age.
Indeed the word of God is not just in word but in power, in action by extending your arms to service of any kind which will ministry grace to the surrounding people.

O God let your servant be in tune to your will, so that I may offer to you a nice fragrance before your face. O Lord let me be a faithful servant to you before I offer any service to your people because you desire obedience than sacrifice.

Please pray for us and our ministry here. Pray that those we spend most of our time with, might see Christ in us, because seeing Christ in us is what matters most. And that will mean we have touched their lives. People need restoration, the restoration which we ourselves have witnessed upon our lives when Christ had brought that morning star in our hearts.

What an amazing month! A month of serving the Lord here in Swaziland ministering the grace which I myself had received through faith in Christ Jesus so that God mighty be lifted up in our service for Him.

I am praising the Lord for leadership training; were pupils, who are prefects from U-tech school here in Swaziland came. Jason taught them on qualities of a good leader and we divided the team into five group in which each group had a leader. Through this ministry it was amazing to see how the Lord filled their empty hearts. Many came to know the Lord and that brought about restoration in their lives. These pupils gave their lives to Christ and I have no doubts that the lessons they received has given them the excellent picture of how a good leader ought to be. Whatever the position in the society God will put them, they will remember those qualities for a good leader and it will mean a lot to the kingdom of Swaziland. Please continue to be praying for Swaziland even as we share our lives with many through our work. I am also praising the Lord for this opportunity to be a part of Africa Revolution reaching the broken hearts with the message of Christ which amends them.

This past month God has been teaching me that people who need uplifting in their lives will receive it by having their hearts restored. The other thing which the Lord has taught is that Life doesn’t have to be a burden but a special blessing from God the creator of all human races. Therefore when we come to realize this, we’ll live our lives with a purpose in us and we will be there to add value to our communities even our nations.
