Statement of Faith

  1. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Reference: John 6:27; Heb.1:8; Acts 5:3,4; Deut. 6:4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Matt 28:19; Is. 48:16
  2. We believe that God has revealed Himself and His truth in the created order, in the Scriptures, and supremely in Jesus Christ; and that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and inerrant in the original writing, so that they are fully trustworthy and of supreme and final authority in all they say. Reference: John 10:35; Matt. 5:18; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21; 1 Cor. 2:13; 1 Tim. 5:18; 1 Cor. 2:14-16; John 16:12-15
  3. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory. Reference: John 1:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Matt. 26:38; John 11:33; John 8:40; Heb. 1:8; Heb. 2:14
  4. We believe God promises, to all who trust in the gospel, forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace, courage in the struggle for justice and peace, the presence of the Holy Spirit in trial and rejoicing, and eternal life in that kingdom which has no end. Reference: 2 Cor. 5:14; Mark 10:45; Rom. 3:24-26; 1 Pet. 3:18; Rom. 5:8-9; Rom. 7:15-21; 6:1-11; 8:11-13; Eph. 2:10
  5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the experience of judgment and then eternal suffering apart from God. Reference: Rom. 1:4; John 20:25-27; I John 2:1; Heb. 7:25; Mark 16:19; Acts 1:9-11 1 Cor. 15:52; 1 Thess. 4:16; Rev. 20:4-6; John 5:28-29; Dan. 12:2; Rev. 21:1-8
  6. We believe that the one, holy, universal Church is the body of Christ and is composed of the communities of Christ’s people. The task of Christ’s people in this world is to be God’s redeemed community, embodying His love by worshipping God with confession, prayer, and praise; by proclaiming the gospel of God’s redemptive love through our Lord Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth by word and deed; by caring for all of God’s creation and actively seeking the good of everyone, especially the poor and needy.   7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences. Reference: Rev 7:9-10; Rev 5:9-10; John 3:16; Gal 3:27-29; Col 3:11-12;
  8. We believe in the blessed hope that Jesus Christ will soon return to this earth, personally, visibly, and unexpectedly, in power and great glory, to gather His elect, to raise the dead, to judge the nations, and to bring His Kingdom to fulfillment.
